How credits work

One credit is the unit you spend on generating. A thumbnail costs between 20 and 200 credits depending on which model you pick, and you pick per generation — so a quick draft and a final image don't have to cost the same.

Variants multiply the cost

Credits are charged per image, not per click. If you ask for three variants of one idea, you get three images and you pay for three — 60 credits on our standard model instead of 20.

That's why the Free plan starts you on a single variant: at 100 credits a month, three variants per click would use up your month in two generations. Raise it when a particular idea is worth comparing side by side, and leave it at one while you're still deciding what to make.

The generator always shows the total before you click.

If a generation fails, you get the credits back

Credits are set aside when you click and only charged once an image actually arrives. If the generation fails, they're returned — and if you close the tab halfway through, they come back within fifteen minutes.

You're never charged for an image you didn't get.

There's a daily limit as well as a monthly one

You can spend up to one month's worth of plan credits in a single day. On the Free plan that's 100, on Basic 800, on Pro 3,200, on Elite 7,800.

For almost everyone this never comes up: it's the same number as your monthly allowance, so you'd have to have saved credits from an earlier month to reach it. If you do hit it, the generator tells you before you click, and the limit lifts at midnight UTC.

Credits you've bought in a pack aren't affected by it.

Plan credits arrive on the 1st of each month

Not on the date you subscribed — on the 1st, for everyone. That's also true if you pay yearly: you get a month's credits every month, not a year's worth in one go.

Unused plan credits roll over, up to a point

On a paid plan your balance can build up to three months' worth of your allowance. Above that, the surplus is dropped when the next month's credits arrive — a quiet month is forgiven, a quiet year doesn't accumulate.

On the Free plan the balance resets to 100 each month rather than stacking.

Bought credits behave differently, in your favour

They never expire, they aren't touched by the monthly reset, and the daily limit doesn't apply to them. They're spent only after your plan credits for the period are gone.

On a free trial you get the full month upfront

Starting a 14-day trial gives you that plan's whole monthly allowance immediately, and it stays yours when the trial converts — the first payment doesn't reset it.

If you change plan or cancel

Moving to a smaller plan trims your plan-credit balance to the new plan's ceiling, which can mean losing some of what you'd banked.

If you cancel, your account moves to the Free plan when the period you've paid for ends, so your monthly allowance becomes 100 credits and any banked plan credits above that are dropped.

Credits you bought in a pack stay exactly where they are. You paid for them separately, and neither cancelling nor changing plan takes them.

Packs are for a busy week, not for every month. If you find yourself topping up regularly, look at Pro or Elite first: at $14 a month Pro works out to about 9¢ per thumbnail, and Elite to under 8¢ — cheaper per image than any pack here. Packs are priced for the month you need more than usual, and they never expire, so nothing is wasted if that month doesn't come again.
