In the generator, every model draws at 1280 x 720. What you download depends on the plan: Free gets that frame as it is, Basic upscales it by 1.5 to 1920 x 1080, and Pro and Elite upscale it by 3 to 3840 x 2160. The model you pick changes the picture, not its size. Free exports also carry a watermark; the paid plans do not.
Two pages do not work that way at all. Recreate and Add your face charge a fixed price — 50 and 100 credits — and export 3840 x 2160 for everyone, on every plan.
The delivered file, by plan, in the generator
| Plan | Drawn at | Upscale | Delivered | Watermark |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 1280 x 720 | none | 1280 x 720 | Yes |
| Basic | 1280 x 720 | x1.5 | 1920 x 1080 | No |
| Pro | 1280 x 720 | x3 | 3840 x 2160 | No |
| Elite | 1280 x 720 | x3 | 3840 x 2160 | No |
3840 x 2160 is the resolution YouTube itself recommends for a video thumbnail, so a Pro or Elite export matches the current specification without resizing. A Free export at 1280 x 720 is above YouTube's 640-pixel minimum width and below its recommendation.
The one model that does not work this way
One model draws the delivered frame itself instead of being upscaled afterwards. On a plan whose factor is 3 it produces 3840 x 2160 directly, and no upscaling pass runs on it. The delivered size is the same; the route to it is shorter.
The two pages where the plan does not decide
Recreate and Add your face are not the generator. Each is one call to one model at a fixed price — 50 credits for Recreate, 100 credits for Add your face — and neither has a plan ladder behind it. Both ask that model for 3840 x 2160 and deliver it whole, so a Free account recreating a thumbnail gets the same frame an Elite account does. Add your face is the one of the two that is not open to Free at all: it is a paid-plan feature, and the server refuses it before anything is charged.
The size on those two pages is fixed in the same sense the price is. There is no size control, no plan test and no fallback to something smaller: if the model ever refuses the request, the page says so and the credits go back, rather than quietly returning a smaller picture at the same price.
The watermark rule does not change on them. A Free account's Recreate comes back at 3840 x 2160 with the same watermark a free generation carries; the paid plans get it clean. Add your face is a paid feature and never reaches a free account at all.
What it does not do
It does not let you choose a resolution. There is no export size control. In the generator the plan decides; on Recreate and Add your face it is always 3840 x 2160.
Upscaling does not add detail. In the generator, the x1.5 and x3 passes enlarge a 1280 x 720 frame. A 2160p export is a 720p drawing at four times the linear size, not a picture drawn at 2160p — except on the one model noted above.
A bigger export is not a better thumbnail. YouTube's limit from a computer is 50 MB and its minimum width is 640, so a 720p file clears both. The resolution matters for how the image looks on a television, not for whether it is accepted.
The credit price does not change with resolution. A 200-credit model costs 200 credits on Free and on Elite; what differs is what comes back. The full price list is here.
Questions people actually ask
What resolution do I get on the free plan? In the generator, 1280 x 720, with a watermark. On Recreate, 3840 x 2160 — that page charges everybody the same 50 credits and gives everybody the same frame.
Does a more expensive model give a bigger file? No. In the generator the plan sets the size, and the model sets what is in the picture. Recreate and Add your face have no model to pick and no plan ladder: one model, one size, one price.
Is a Pro export really 4K? It is 3840 x 2160, produced by enlarging a 1280 x 720 frame by a factor of 3 — except on the one model that draws at the requested size, where the frame is native.
How do I get rid of the watermark? Any paid plan. Watermark-free export is the first row of the plan feature table.
Does the upscale cost credits? No. It is part of the generation you already paid for.
Which plan matches YouTube's recommendation? Pro and Elite, at 3840 x 2160.
